I’m so excited to share today’s engagement session with you all! Last weekend I met up with Madalyn and Andrew at Moss Rock Preserve in Hoover, AL. We opted to beat the heat and met early that Sunday morning, and the combination of glowy morning light and mossy caverns made this whole session feel like a magical woodland fairytale. Madalyn and Andrew were all about having fun together, and were full of natural giggles the entire time (I didn’t even have to pull out any of my bad jokes! :D) They brought their precious puppy along, and he enjoyed exploring the preserve and posing for a few photos along the way. I had so much fun hanging out with these two , and capturing their sweet love for one another. I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from their session!
Hi friends! It's been forever and a day since I blogged and I am so excited to finally catch up and show you guys what I've been up to this Summer!
Today I am sharing one of my favorite shoots so far this year... my sister and her fiancé's engagement session! Sheldon and Kate got engaged in May, while on a romantic trip to Sheldon's hometown in England, and since the moment he popped the question (ok let's be real, since they started dating over a year ago) I was planning and plotting what I would do for their engagement photos. I love working with family because I feel more free to try new things... like an engagement shoot in a coffee shop! We started to O'Henry's Coffee, and ended on a downtown bridge overlooking the sunset on Morris Avenue. I couldn't have asked for a nicer evening, better light, or more attractive subjects. :)
Kate and Sheldon, I am so thrilled for you guys and can't wait to stand by your side as you tie the knot in February! Now here are just a few of my favorites from the shoot:
When Hannah reached out to me last month about her engagement photos, I was so excited to work with her and her fiancé. Hannah and I had never met, but I had heard a lot about her because she is the maid of honor in one of the weddings I'm shooting this Summer! I was especially excited when she asked me to shoot their engagement photos in Tuscaloosa, at Capitol Park and around the beautiful University of Alabama campus, where she and her fiancé, Alan, met. It is such a beautiful area, and one of my favorite places to shoot!
We met on a hot Sunday evening, and began shooting at Capitol Park. Hannah and Alan are so naturally comfortable together, and I was able to just stand back and capture their adorable interactions with barely any instruction. :) After a quick change of clothes, we headed to the President's Mansion for a few photos, and then around the quad across the street. We strolled around campus talking about how Hannah and Alan met, and their upcoming wedding in October. They danced, and laughed, and we all enjoyed the beautiful golden sunset.
Hannah and Alan, thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet and work with you guys! I wish you all the best as you plan your beautiful wedding! Now enjoy these favorites from the shoot!
Last weekend I had the pleasure of meeting with Josh and Sara for their engagement photos. Since my first meeting with them in January, I knew Josh and Sara were going to be some of the sweetest, most down-to-earth people I have ever worked with. Strolling through the muddy fields on that cloudy Saturday, we talked about the house they're building, Sara's dream of grand stables for her horses, and of course their upcoming wedding. I love seeing these two interact. They seem to be fully themselves together, and it was a joy to capture that through photographs. I can't wait to shoot their wedding in May, and witness them finally become husband and wife!
Now enjoy these favorite from their shoot!
This week I had the pleasure of meeting with Josh and Katharine to take their engagement photos. I had such a wonderful time working with these two! Josh and Katharine's joy is contagious. Their silliness together is adorable and their friendship is heartwarming. I loved hearing all about their love story, Josh's proposal (and Katharine's too!), and their dreams of a cute little house with a fenced-in backyard and a dog. :) Thank you for the wonderful time, friends! I wish you both the best as you plan your wedding in June, work towards your medical dreams, and continue to pursue each other. Now enjoy these favorites from the shoot!
I recently had the pleasure of working with some friends of mine on a sweetheart session! I love when couples that have been married for years can still enjoy a romantic photoshoot, and look just as in-love as they did in their wedding photos! We were blessed with miraculously beautiful weather for this time of year and the location was so fun! Rebecca and Clay were absolute naturals and I barely gave them any instructions - a photographer's dream! Thanks so much friends, it was a pleasure!
