Hannah | Class of 2019

The past couple of months have been a whirlwind of projects that I can’t wait to share, and I am finally getting caught up on blogging! One of the things I have been up to is senior shoots! With Spring and graduation season right around the corner, we have been shooting senior photos left and right! I always have a blast on senior shoots, and this one was no exception.

Last weekend I met with Hannah on a cloudy afternoon in downtown Birmingham. We began our shoot at Railroad Park, and then changed outfits and made our way to Morris Avenue. These are two of my favorite spots to shoot, and every time I’m there with each new client we find and create something unique! Hannah was up for anything, from dancing and twirling in the park, to running across the street for that super fierce final shot! I had so much fun exploring the city with her and capturing her beautiful spirit. Here are some of my very favorites!

The W Family

If you’ve known me for any length of time, you know that Fall is my FAVORITE! So likewise, Fall sessions are my favorite sessions!

The W family (who just happen to be some of my amazing in-laws!) met me on a breezy Fall afternoon at Moss Rock Preserve. The beautiful rocks hidden in the colorful woods were the perfect backdrop for this fun and laid back family session.

I had a blast with these guys just hanging out and watching them interact. Their love for each other is apparent as soon as you meet them, and it translates so effortlessly in their photos! Here are just a few of my favorites!

Jessica + Stephen | J&D Farms

It was a mildly chilly day in mid-November. Florals of deep burgundy and rich green perfectly complimented the late Fall foliage on the grounds of J&D Farms. Pops of gold throughout the decor matched the golden light that was pouring over the tree line. The rich hues hinted at the Winter that was just around the corner, and a red velvet cake topped with florals and bright red berries was just the right touch for this rustic yet elegant scene.

I couldn't be more thankful for the amazing team of vendors that helped make this day possible. Each provided a vital piece of the puzzle and the end result is something I am so proud to have been a part of.

Whether you're planning a wedding or just planning how you will spend this New Year, I hope this shoot inspires you to have big dreams, run towards them full force, and create something beautiful. Happy New Year friends!

Josh + Sara | Rose Marry Farms

From the moment I arrived at Rose Marry Farms on the morning of May 14th, I knew this was going to be one of the most relaxed weddings I had ever been a part of. Sara and Josh are some of the most easy going people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Even when various things were forgotten or didn't go as planned, Sara never stopped smiling, didn't sweat the small stuff, and you never would have guessed that everything wasn't absolutely perfect. Talk about a dream!

The venue was beautifully rustic, and decorated with perfect reflections of Sara and Josh's personalities. The weather was a little cold, but we were blessed with sunny skies and a refreshing breeze during photos. The ceremony was sincere, the reception was laid back, and everyone was full of joy celebrating this sweet love story.

The girls started the day getting ready in the beautiful bridal room on the property of Rose Marry Farms, while I snuck away to shoot some details. I then spent some time with the guys and then the girls, shooting portraits before the ceremony began. After the ceremony came group photos, and then they all headed into the reception for cake, barbecue, and time with friends and family. Finally, I snuck off with the couple after the reception for a few more photos with just the two of them.

Thank you, Sara and Josh, for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. It was an honor and a privilege, and I wish you all the best in marriage and in life. Cheers friends! <3

David + Emma

These two. Their bond is one of the sweetest things I've ever had the pleasure of capturing, and I'm sure I did not do it justice. They are just such a special couple.

David and Emma are some of the most driven people I have ever met. Their hopes and dreams are enormous and I have no doubt they will accomplish them all. Both David and Emma are heading off to college this month to pursue those dreams, but they will be doing so in two different states. Coupled with their 2 year anniversary last month, Emma wanted to surprise David with a special day, to celebrate and spend some final time together before they had to part ways.

I was so excited when Emma asked me to do a photoshoot for them as part of their day. The best part is, David had no idea! He thought it was just an innocent trip to the art museum, but when I came around the corner with my camera in hand, his face was priceless! :D

David and Emma, you were an absolute pleasure to shoot and I can't wait for the next opportunity to do it again! Thanks friends!

This past weekend, my good friend and fellow photographer Ashlyn (find her here) and I decided to do a little photoshoot swap for each other. I was in desperate need of an updated headshot so the timing was perfect! I must admit, we were both feeling awkward in front of the camera, but the mutual feeling put us both at ease and I think the final product could not have turned out better! Thank you so much for collaborating with me Ashlyn! Looking forward to the next time!

Rebecca + Clay

I recently had the pleasure of working with some friends of mine on a sweetheart session! I love when couples that have been married for years can still enjoy a romantic photoshoot, and look just as in-love as they did in their wedding photos! We were blessed with miraculously beautiful weather for this time of year and the location was so fun! Rebecca and Clay were absolute naturals and I barely gave them any instructions - a photographer's dream! Thanks so much friends, it was a pleasure!
